About Us

What is TheComedyNerds.com?

We are a website and weekly Podcast dedicated to the love of comedy.  Actually the infatuation, obsession and lust of comedy.   Improv, Sketch and Stand up Comedy veterans Dustin D’Addato and Dan McInerney examine different aspects of comedy from the perspective of both viewers and performers.  No subject is off limits and no stone is left unturned (and no cliche is left untyped.)  We were nominated for best website at the 2010 ECNY awards and best podcast at the 2011 ECNY awards.

Hi there just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a
few of the images aren’t loading correctly. I’m
not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different web browsers and both show the same results.

Hi, Dustin and Dan —

As comedy nerds you may be interested in my new book, “Comedy Writing for Late-Night TV.” It’s the only practical and comprehensive manual about how to write topical monologue jokes, desk pieces, sketches, and other short-form comedy.

Here’s a link to it on Amazon:

I’m a four-time Emmy winner and former head writer for David Letterman and Jay Leno. The book is based on a class I’ve taught for years at the Peoples Improv Theater.

Please send me your mailing address if you’d like a copy of the book to review. I’d also love to talk about it on your podcast.

Yours in comedy,
Joe Toplyn
