Does Eddie Murphy Still Get Into The Comedy Hall Of Fame?

by The Comedy Nerds on March 14, 2012

If the Comedy Hall of Fame was a thing* there was a time that Eddie Murphy would be a lock.  I mean, come one.  Trading Places, Beverly Hills Cop, Coming To America, SNL, Raw.  But that all ended in 1994.  Since then he has brought us Norbit, Meet Dave, The Adventures Of Pluto Nash and I could go on but that would force all of us to throw up in our mouths.

This week we debate if the sins of the present outweigh the success of the pasts.  Does he still deserve to get in the Comedy Hall of Fame or does his 2 for 23 record since 1994 take him out of the running (he gets credit for Dreamgirls, even though it wasn’t a comedy and the Shreks).  It gets pretty heated.  Take a listen and let us know what you think.

* technically it is a thing, but I am not sure it is universally recognized as no one I know had ever heard of it
