Can Comedy Competitions Be Fair?

by The Comedy Nerds on January 4, 2010

This week, with the announcement that NBC may be bringing back “Last Comic Standing”, we discuss whether or not you should have comedy competitions. And if you do, is there anyway to make them fair? Can something as subjective as comedy be quantified? Would just changing venues wildly affect the outcome? What are you waiting for? I’m going to give you the answers here, so you better go listen the episode.

Plus! Learn what terrified Dan over the holidays. Find out about Dustin’s Book of Knives. And news….FROM THE PAST!!!

hello no they are not getting annoying. Keep ‘em coming. Also I think you are totally calling out Dan about getting My Custom Van last year. Take that Dan, he says he’s a bigger comedy nerd than you. Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!

Stop the fight! Throw in the towel! It’s over, he’s had enough! Stop the fight! Stop the fight!

We need comedy competitions. But more regional venues are needed beyond the NY-SF-LA axis! There are many talented comedians throughout the USA…but the only ones who make it are those who just happen to live/work in those aforementioned cities.

comedy competitions are super fun to watch, which outweighs whether they can truely be quantified, plus there is the comfort iin performance factor, which can be displayed by the comedian, his or herself, huh?
