Okay, so first off I am going to say both biasly and unbiasly that this promo should have won the Doritos Crash The Superbowl contest:
But even though it didn’t, it was funny. And you know who didn’t think of it? Anyone at any of those big million dollar advertising agencies. It was done by a bunch of comedians. As was the winner, which you can watch here, was also done by comedians.
I know everyone talks about how the Super Bowl is all about commercials but what they really mean is it’s all about funny commercials. Commercials we will all talk about the next day. But none of the advertising agency folks came up with anything entertaining. Even the McGruber thing was done by sketch writers. It’s seems like Madison Avenue can’t handle it any more some it’s time to turn it over to someone that can.
The Super Bowl was, is and always will be a showcase for fun, creative and new commercial ideas. And today the likes of YouTube and FunnyOrDie.com have trained sketch comedians in the art of the short quick hit video. I think it’s time that we turn the Super Bowl over to sketch comedians. How much more fun would it be if you knew that The State was reuniting again for a Bud Light video or that Flight Of The Conchords wrote the new jingle for Ford Trucks. Let’s put a little humor back into the Super Bowl. Although that Cashforgold.com commercial with MC Hammer was pretty funny. I knew Hammer Time would come back around again. (insert bad joke about pants)

This was unquestionably the best one, it did actually air during the pre-game show. Which I think means the Doritos people knew it too, but had to learn the hard way what so many of us all ready know. Democracy. Simply. Does. Not. Work.
Good point Comedy Nerds, who is certainly not me posting and not realizing I was signed in under the wrong name. Nope. That didn’t happen.
